what brand skimmer to buy

ok well i am going to buy a skimmer and im really not sure what brand to buy any one have an idea it will be for almost 100gal system

there are so many types otu there. You might want to post yoru budget to help people pick one for you. The link I posted is a fairly low priced skimmer that is still high quality.
 
ok well here is the one that im looking at on marine depot its a lil under 200 i think

+1 for go with a bigger skimmer and save yourself the guessework. pm me if you want I am just not going to open that can of worms
 
There is no reason to delete this thread. You asked a question and got some answers.

So what did you decide upon?
 
srry that was my g/f i told to say that i found one that i like its a sea life system skimmer soo we are gonna give it a whirl
 
Hmm. Found one as in got it free? I have a feeling I know the type, and if I'm correct it won't be of much value. Can you post a picture?

That's better than I was hoping. However, it looks like a Rio pump. If it is the Model 2100 or 2500, please do not use it and get a better pump. Those two models are known tank killers. When they fail, they fail spectacularly and nuke the water it sits in. (It does say it comes with a Catalina pump, but looks similar to a RIO. )
 
thanks for the help i will check it now i guess since i just plumbed in my mag 12 along with my UV sterilizer always fun to make those trips back and forth tho home depot
