Well, not really new.

Thought I would post here, I was a Member of DFWMAS from 2004 to 2010.

I have relocated to Nashville and am just getting back into the hobby. I figured this board contains the best group of reefers so I would re-join so you guys can answer all of my stupid questions again.

I am going to put together a 40 system, I have not found the perfect house yet so don't want to go big. Until then I am staying involved with a 5.5 gallon.

Can't wait to catch up with you guys. Oh and I will be there in September!

Hi Richard!

Tell me something! What does "FMDNR" stand for? I have seen that a number of times with a former member. Where do you get that icon?

I have not attempted any thing smaller than a 20 gallon, and that is only just in the last couple of months. I cannot claim any success as of yet with it either. I expect that there must be at least a few that have succeeded with a small tank like yours.

Correct, I did renew my membership the other night, I am sure there is a lag time. I did not feel it would be right to get all of this great advice for free, and it is a very small part for great organization.

Thanks Bill and Matt,
I joined the MTRC (Middle Tennessee Reef Club) and they are a small but really good club, I have found a couple of LFS that are OK.

Being a LPS and Softie lover I think my 40B build will be centered around some of those colorful sticks everyone keeps talking about. I have been gathering ideas, parts and equipment for a couple of months. Every time I think I am ready, I see or read something else that makes me rethink my idea.

I am waiting for Petco's dollar a gallon sale to get my tank. I have purchased my overflow (Glass-holes) and bulkheads for return and CL. I am seriously contemplating building my own LED fixture using multichips but still not sure.

I will be asking a ton of questions so stand by.

Welcome back Richard. Your membership access has been updated; I actually thought I'd gotten this done that same night, but apparently I didn't get it right the first time. My apologies.

No problem Marc, I was not worried at all. Hope you are doing good.

P.S. I will be bringing a bottle of Crown Royal with me in September. You bring your favorite mixer!

An empty glass works every time.
