I test every week, last week my calcium was low so i added calcium after the water change (5 gal) in a 24 gal. nano cube, and a little more mid week. I tested today and the cal, was 300, little low.Doing a water change tommorow should i ad calcium today and tommorow after water change or just after water change only? The kh tested off the chart which goes to214.8 for 12 drops and it took 15 drops to complete the test.Is this kh ok as it will decrease on its own or after the water change? any info is appreciated, thanks oh yea the nitrate is 0 , phosphate is 0 also

Hi,
First thing is to make sure that you verify those readings before making large adjustments. I doubt that you have anything in your tank consuming that much Ca.....sounds like an imbalance.

I would recommend the following:
1. Stop dosing
2. Test your wc water to see where it's at as far as Ca/Alk/Mg
3. Bring your levels to NSW levels(or until it matches your readings in step 2) with several water changes (10%-15% over several day's).
4. Monitor Ca/Alk levels daily to determine consumption levels and then dose daily if necessary. Here's the link to recommended levels http://melevsreef.com/parms.html . G-luck

Cheers!

I agree with what Ron has suggested. You should also test for Mg. With an imbalance like you are seeing I would bet your Mg is very low. It becomes very difficult to get Ca and Alk in line without first getting Mg lines out. HTH
