Water Circulation Options - Opinions Please

I wanted some opinions about pump options mainly. I have either a 1200 or 1800 pumping water from the fuge back into my 150 gallon main tank through 2 tubes. I currently have 1 modded MJ 1200 for high flow to do the main tank circulation and 2 - unmodded MJ 1200's on a wave timer. What I am considering is running 2 - seios constantly during the day (for wide & high volume flow) with 2 MJ 1200's set on a wave timer (to add wave effect) with the main water return going as well. My question is if this is my best option? I saw some Hydor Koralia pumps that are cheaper. I can't find a good thread where options are discussed in one spot. Also, I'm not willing to spend $400 on circulation pumps, so I'd like to be around the $150 and under price range. Considering how little difference there is in price, I was considering the Seio 2600's, but I'm not sure if 2 of them would be too much for a 150 gallong tank. One other thing is that I have a blenny that has set up house on one of my modded mj1200s. I have never set the one I use for high flow on a timer because I'm scared he might get chopped up. When the Seios are configured that way, can the blenny get in the blades when it is off? Again, I have a controller that has 2 outlets for wave timers so I was planning on keeping the MJ's for that effect. I have considered just selling all the MJ 1200's and buying a Seio wave controller with the money, but it seems like a waste of the wave timer included in my controller already. Thoughts? Am I the only one that has trouble searching posts to find anything older than 6 months? I know there has to be some good threads on here, but I cannot pull them with my searches.

Thanks guys & gals.

hte koralias are really good pumps, great flow patterns, and alot of output for fairly cheap, really low wattage too. The holes are pretty narrow on the backside of the pumps, so they should be safe for all inhabitants. i know several on here use them, and i have a few myself, all doing great.

Seios dont' have blades. IMO the Seio controller is an overpriced piece of junk. For a 150 I'm afraid my prescription is to cough up some dough and buy a Vortech - it is definitely worth the extra time you have to save up. Barring that... I dunno, maybe some big Koralias on a wave timer.

Your best bet, stick with the MJ's on a wavemaker or controller. The Koralias continue to have issues with shocks and such, though it seems to be limited to certain models. I know of a couple of places that don't carry them anymore due to that. They are not controllable, though some people have them on wavemakers with various degress of success.

Seios are nice, but for what you get, you'd get more bang for the buck with the MJ's.

Until you are ready to drop some $$ on vortec or tunze, the modded MJ's on a wavemaker are the best deal in town. Nothing sexy but highly effective and VERY reliable.

I agree mod the existing maxijets and it should be plenty. Until your willing to go Tunze or Vortech it's your best option.
