Wall hammer receding.

My blue wall hammer started receding a few days ago. Parameters are dead on and everything else is doing great. I dipped it in medicoral yesterday and lowered it a bit. Any thoughts?

Alk 8.5
Phos 0
Cal 440
Mg 1300
Nitrates 0
Ammonia 0

Any thoughts on preventative measures are appreciated. Id hate to lose this guy.

Neither is important, I would look more at contaminants or someone picking on it. I'd suggest running some carbon and doing a good water change on the system with quality RO/DI and salt. How often do you do water changes, clean your skimmers cup, add top off (from where and at what TDs), feed your fish, change your lights? Just as a note, wall hammers are more delicate in general and it could have simply been stung by something or been affected by other livestock. once established for a while tho, they will do ok.

I do 30-40 gallon water changes it biweekly. Its a 210. I use rodi from a melevs unit. Tds is 0. Tropic Marin salt at 1.026. I have new leds. I dose 50ml of bionic daily. Mag, Iodine and scrotinum weekly.

I don't see anybody picking on it. My first thought was my foxface but don't see him any where near it. I'm doing my WC today so we'll see.

If you just changed to LEDs that might be the issue try moving it to a shaded portion the slowly adjust it to the new lights

Yeah. Thats my first thought. So I moved it down about 12". It was all the way up. I had it for 2 months and it loved it there. The lights aren't completely new, but I did add 56 1000ma leds about 3 weeks ago. The other 84 are 700ma.

I just did my water change and cleaned the skimmer cup. We'll see what happens.

I've never been much of a lps guy. Should I dip it again? Or just let it be? I'll post pics at three when the lights come on.

If your LEDs dimmable you really should start at 25% power and slowly increase 5 % every two weeks with my LEDs I am at 55 % prob not go any higher as my corals do not like that much light

Ok, so I moved it down to the sand bed. It receded some more but has slowed down significantly. I wonder if I should leave it be, or cut off the dead with my bandsaw.........

Ok. After a lot of research and talking to a trusted lfs I determined it had some sort of bacteria infection. So we cut it into three pieces. Here's what it looked like before the surgery. Ill post pics of the after when my lights come on.
