wall hammer attack

Hey just got a wall hammer today and need some advice. I've read that these things can get pretty aggressive with it's sweeper tentacles. I have it placed pretty close to my bubble gum chalice mother colony. I just wanted to know if I should move it or not. I really don't want to wake up one day and find my chalice colony half dead from an attack by the hammer. Please let me know what yall think, any advise would be appreciated. Thanks.

Move it to a safe location and observe it when it's sweeper tentacles are out. That might give you a better idea of the hammers reach. The chalice may have them as well.

Yeah thats the only problem, I have almost no room at all in my tank haha. That's why if I decide to move it I'm going to have to rearrange alot of things and would prefer not to do it. But if I'm in for an all out sweeper tentacle battle then I just might have to.

A lot of LPS can have long sweeper tentacles with nasty stings, but Ive never really had an issue and I keep mostly lps. Try and give the most space you can and see what comes of it, imo. I doubt you will have much of an issue.

Well that's a little reassuring, too bad its tentacles are less than an inch away from the chalice haha. We'll see how it goes tonight, I really like where its at right now.

I have a large hammer colony 6 inches from a large chalice colony and have never had any issues (2+ years now)
