vortech gen 2 magnet upgrade

... don't put the two magnets even remotely close to each other. Once they are stuck it takes two people to get them off. Yes ... I learned the hard way. :x

What do you think about it? Is quieter faster or the same performance??? I just inquired with EcoTech on the upgrade options.

thx

Well, the magnet is the best benefit of it. I haven't upgraded the firmware yet since i'm waiting on Bimmerz to get his back so I can run over and do it at his house.

I've had my vortech for a week and I took it out to switch the magnets and the shaft and the magnet was already oxidized which is not good. The new magnet and shaft are covered with a coating that won't oxidize. It's great. Same peformance though, but the magnet is larger so you have to use the new cover they provide. Overall i love my vortech and the battery backup I have keeps me from having to deal with the 3 bad power outages we had this past spring.

i have one with the upgrade henry if you want to check it out sometime before you order them

Is it just me, or was this product released before testing / QC was done on it? Seems there are more 'upgrades' that really should have been included than a microsoft office app.

lol, never really thought about it like that, but yea, it looks like all us early adoptors got to be their beta testers, lol

The first pumps came out 2.5 years ago. This is Gen2. Doesn't seem like that much of a stretch to me.

i am suppose to get my new drivers tomorrow. if they are generation 2 i can flash member's drivers on this side of town

My Gen2 stuff is on its way as well. I waited for the initial rush to pass, so I'll have my goodies next week. If someone needs to flash their driver in my area, we can do it here.

I just opened the box to my other one and it has a 24v and 12v instead of Power and Battery...weird...but the first thing I checked was the magnet and it was already oxidizing.

Marc, maybe you can flash one of mine and I'll get mine to Wes and start the cycle over here.

Sure, that is fine with me. The only thing is we have to learn the steps, and I have to turn off all of mine while setting yours. Other than that, no biggie.

I'm still using all the original magnets. I'm looking forward to the upgrade. :)

from what i have been reading is that the $9.95 magnet upgrade is not a forever thing once they have a set date to end they will give a couple month's notice then it is over...so better stock up.

We haven't put a date on the end of the $9.45 kit but when we do we'll provide at least four to eight weeks notification prior to its close.

You can purchase a new nozzle and dry side gasket directly from our service department.

my new drivers that came in are gen 1...so i will have to wait also

I got a UPS notice so mine will be here in a couple more days. I don't know that I'll notice a difference, but I like that I'm able to upgrade anyway.

i guess im gonna order my two, anyone else want to order with and see if we cant get them before the next meeting?
