Volitan fin to body ratio?

I have a baby Volitan. He is currently about 3.5". His pec. fins are probably 5.5" when spread. Do they maintain ~ that ratio when grown?

I had a volitans that I raised from a 2" baby to a 6" fish. The fin to body ratio is a bit more pronounced when young, probably as a defense mechanism in the wild. They grow into their fins, so to speak, but still maintain quite an impressive display as they get bigger.

So by the time it reaches adulthood I'm guessing that I'm going to need a tank that is 24"d x 24"h at a minimum?

Ive seen both some have longer fins wile others are more balanced, I would think it would depend on the sex of the animal and the over all specimen health and genes.
