Vho lighting - Few questions?

[Im going to install 4 36in VHO's and have some questions

How many fans should i install?

How far above the water should the bulbs be?

And what kind of ballast should i use?]

2 fans will suffice.
IceCap ballasts are the preferred ones.]

[You may not need any fans at all. It all depends on how your canopy (if you have one) is set up.
The more shallow the tank the farther away from the waters suface the lights can be. I had a 24" tall tank and had the lights 2" off the water. The draw backs were salt creep on the bulbs from the turbulant water and the tank temperature was high. IceCap ballast are nice but so are the ARO.]
