VHO endcaps

I have run across two different types of 3 piece VHO endcaps. The first kind the two bulb pins are pushed or wiggled into the two slots in the endcap. The second kind has one slot for the pins and then the bulb is rotated to make contact.

My question is one better than the other? I am kind of partial to the twist kind but not unchangeably so.

I thought maybe there were two manufacturers, the German kind and the ARO kind but I can't find pictures of the inside of the caps to determine that.

It is my thought that these must be kept in pairs and not one of each.

Thanks for your help.

the ones you just push in are better. plus they are easier to use. i always hated the ones you twist because you dont always get it right and the light can flicker.... the ones you push in are easy and you know when they are in!

push in are great because you can over rotate them. YOu want to mount your endcaps a little tight, the bulbs should stay in place without the tightening rings screwed on but not so much as the endcap bends out of 90 deg. All the new style endscaps i have are german push and lock. Sometimes the rubber o rings will get hung up when you insert the bulbs just be aware of that. Casey
