Up for ID the coral?

I have been collecting various corals and am sad to say that I have not written the names down. I know what I like and they all look good in my tank but NOW I would like to know what I have (sometimes I see people offering frags by name and I really dont know if I have them or not).

So, if I start posting pictures, will you help me put names to them?

I'm sure we'd be happy to help, as long as their decent pics. Are you looking for scientific name or commercial given name?

lol - commercial names would be fine.

I know the overall general category (ie, acro, millie, caps, etc) but I see some many "first" names, I dont know what is what (I have brought some home before to figure out that I already had it -- or at least something close to it).

I will start posting soon. (hopefully, I can get some decent pictures). Thanks in advance.

First one up. I had to resize the picture in order to upload it -- hopefully the quality didnt go down too much. (Maybe my camera skills will improve :)

The second picture is really the true colors (under MH lighting) but the first gives a better idea of the overall shape.

If you can trace it back to who you got it from it looks like like it could be ora hawkins echinata. Again with those le and commercial names you really need to know the lineage, nice piece either way.

I am sure it is an echinada, thanks

And I am sure the name was ORA Hawkins Echinata now that you mention that name.

Anyone else have any other ideas or should I move on to the next one? :)

OK - coral number 2: one of my favorites - it is about the size of your open hand and is nice brownish color with bright green dots :)

ORA WARPSPEED.
It's a type of montipora, but I don't remember the specifics.

Must be -- looks like mine. Cant find Montipora hispida -- did you make that up? said:
No, of course not. http://www.melevsreef.com/id/mhispida.html The picture isn't all that great, as it was taken a long time ago. The coloration of the base was the same as yours, with the bright green polyps. Of course, I'm not familiar with the nickname "warp speed."

I agree with drew and the single poly in thr bottom right looks like a purple people eater
