Tyree PM (purple monster)

My opinion is no. The picture of frags that I have seen in others tanks hasn't really done anything for me. Also they grow so slow. I think it's just a bunch of hype.

thats what i was thinking because i have read they are slow growers , well how about all these other sps's like the rainbow and superman monti's and there are another few that i cant think of at the moment? i know that they aren't as expensive but will bite the wallet a little.

If someone flooded the market with those pieces, the price would come down just like it did for Rose BTAs.

I don't really see the fascination with the PM other than being able to charge the premium that it commands once (if?) your frag grows out. Most pictures of it in peoples tanks show the color as very washed out; rarely do you see it deep purple.

The Superman has me on the fence. It's pretty cool but damn, $80 for a 1/2"? There are a few other LE-type corals that I'd shell out some money for (Tyree's LE efflo is pretty dope) but if you find a good reefer you can get the same LE corals for less than the Tyree price - that's what I intend to do when I finally get my next tank up.

Nothing is worth that period!

The only reason to buy it is if you like bragging that you have a lot of money.

Just like the $100 1/2" blue tort craze, the blue and red zo phase and the acan/blasto phase, this to shall pass!

If I could predict that I'd be on a beach somewhere with not a care in the world!

I will say that generally speaking SPS hold value pretty well. Not any $150 a frag but you can still get ~$50 for a decent sized tort frag and most colorful frags will get you $30 or so. Not so bad. You can give away red zos now and blues are back to a very reasonable level, Acans will be back to reasonable in no time. Rose bubble tips are back reasonable. No telling whjat's next really. Best advice is to stay away from anything super popular at the time!
