Types of tubing

I am setting up my overflow box and tubing to and from the sump. I bought my potential return line hose at HD. It is called Watts washing machine hose. I looked it up, and it is made of "designed with poly vinyl chloride compounds". Has anyone ever heard of leaching from certain compounds is tubing before?
 
Did a bit of research. Well, if google is considered research anyway.....
PolyVilylChloride.... is aka PVC. I guess I will be ok. Key word being guess.

A picture really won't help. The material is jet black with a semi glossy appearance. not exactly what the sku number is, there are numbers all over the upc including
42146023 in a small font
this seems to be the product id swpm10 1-1/40Dx10'
and the upc is 048643178861
 
That's not what I was thinking it was.... so I can't say for sure if it is safe to use or not. If it were me, I would take it back and swap it out for clear vinyl hose or the stiff pvc type hose that you find in the plumbing section.
