Tunze question

I am thinking about buying a tunze or two. My question is can the Turbelle Stream 6000, 6100, and 6200 be used without a controller? I dont really have the money to dump into 2 tunzes and a multicontroller all at once. Plus I dont know that I will need a second pump so I'd rather wait on the controller until I decide.

Also, what all can the multicontroller do that the singlecontroller can't? Can't the singlecontroller control 2 pumps with the Y adapter? Is the multicontroller worth the extra money?

If you want to save yourself the money, go with maxijet mod kits which produces almost the same output as the Tunze. I recently added 4 maxijet mod on the tank and I get a lot of flow. It's hookup to a wave master pro.

Tunze are great to have since the electricity consumption is a lot lower. The 6060 consumes about 11 watts per hr. Overtime, it will self pay for itself.
 
Thanks for the reply. I probably should go with the maxi jets but I have wanted Tunzes for awhile. How much do the modded maxi jets put out? I hated my maxi jets because of the stinkin suction cups. Im probably going to get 6100's with the multicontroller. Working a few extra days to get the money together. :D I'm sure I will have to turn them way down but I am wanting to keep more SPS and to make the SPS I already have happier. I have been slowly removing my sandbed and eventually hope to have it BB. When I get energetic I want to put starboard. My brother in law is building me a new stand so it will have to be broken down when that is finished. I'm putting it back BB with starboard and getting rid of some of the huge softies and LPS.

yes you can run the tunzes without a multicontroller. each one comes with a single manual controller box.

Don't get me wrong Angela, I love the tunze too but the tunze to cost a lot. I have three tunze in my tank which is not enough flow. By adding 4 maxijet and a wave maker, I have more flow then needed.

I wish I had a picture to show you how awesome these mods are.
