Treasure Sun Coral

A few of you responded to my WTB black sun coral ad. Thank you!

A few others saw that beautiful coral Frank (over at Frank's Tanks) had with a colony of both black branching sun coral and orange sun coral.

After close inspection of my soon-to-be new black sun coral I realized it was special. Alongside my new black branching sun coral is about 3 or 4 heads of orange sun coral as well. Mostly hidden but I spotted them. I await polyps to come out for a photo.

Both black and orange sun corals.

In the background you see my very happy yellow and red gorgonian which is always fully polyped like that. Sorry for the busy background I ran out of room in my tiny nano and wanted to make sure I could pay attention to this coral properly so I tied it to my eggcrate top  It's right in front but very easy to target feed.

Oh hey I totally forgot to ask how the shoal grass was doing? I'll have some hydroid free macro if you'd like some available for pruning sometime soon too.

I love that shoal grass! It seems to be the brightest thing in the tank. Sort of shines under the light, unlike the macros. and thanks, but my tank is FULL of macros, and I just got a bunch more that are being panacured. Let me know when you want to come by for that gorg.

Warning, Thread hijack:

Shoal grass? I was thinking of getting some from floridapets. Is is slow growing? (I need to find some slow growers to replace the caulerpa species in my fuge that are being outcompeted by cheato.)

Hey Ashlar!

All seagrasses are slow growers. They require higher light and a min of 3" DSB they are rooted plants not macros.

Cool people like using those. . um. .what'cha call it trees too. Ah mangroves that's it. They grow relatively slower as well.
