Transporting New Water in the heat

This may be a silly question, but it occurred to me today as I drove home 25 miles from the LFS in my Jeep (with no top) in the 100 degree temp with 20 gallons of new saltwater in the back. Will the high temp "damage" the water? I always let it cool down before using it, but will the heat affect the water chemistry?

I just added my first fish and I'm just starting to get a handle on fine tuning the water. I would hate to dump in 20 gallons of less than top-notch water.

Thanks,
KJ

You could get a inexpensive water thermometer and compare the new water to the tank water. As long as they are a degree or two apart you will be fine.

I've had my water changes more than 8 degrees apart with no problem. Changing 5 gals in a 24 gal tank. Just my experience.
