Transporting coral in 100 degree heat

Gonna be in the metroplex this weekend and will hopefully be able to pick up a couple of coral while I am there. I have bought a bunch of corals and transported them, but I normally make a fish store or two my last stop on the way home and the corals will stay in a cooler in a temperature controlled environment. This trip I will be doing any shopping before I head to a Rangers game and then heading home. Temps this day are looking to be close to 100 degrees. The corals will be in a cooler for as long as 12hrs.

Here is my plan and I would like your feedback. I have a medium sized camping cooler that I was thinking of adding some ice to. Then place the frags into another Styrofoam cooler and place this cooler inside the larger cooler. Is it worth it to even try this or bother, or should I just wait til the next trip and get some corals on the way home?

Hope I explained you plan well enough. Your feedback would be appreciated.

throw a couple of ziplocs full of water in the fridge and toss them inside the cooler, I usually wrap a few towels around them so they don't touch the bags and transfer too much cold. I wouldn't hesitate to do it I've shipped in the middle of summer with great success, just keep them out of direct sun.

We have kept corals alive in coolers for hours in August doing this exact thing.
Cool water. Not ice. Use a towel or newspaper to insulate the corals from the bags of water.
