Tragic clown vs overflow death - Clown lost

[I had one of my clowns pass away last night in a losing battle with my overflow. I have one left and really want to get him another tankmate. My problem is that Im not sure how they will react to each other. I have an ocellaris clown now and want to possibly add a clarkii. What are the opinions on this? Will they get along? The clown I have now is still very young. My other question has to do with black and white clowns..Will they host an anenome? I know its tough to get get the Ocellaris to host. I believe the black and white is also tough, is this true?]

[I have ocellaris and a large black and white saddleback clown. They all get along fine. Some people will tell you to add a bigger clown, but i dont think it would matter with an O clown. They are so docile that i dont see it being a problem. And to answer the question about Hosting. My Saddleback jumped into the anenome after about 2 days. Just remember that you are gambling when you add different types of clowns together. What size tank do you have?]

[I think all clowns are getting along ok except the marroon and golden stripes. Those are mean and known to knock things over.]

[I have a big GS maroon & a big clarki. They get along fine as long as the clarki doesn't get into any of the 3 BTAs. The maroon claims them all.]

[Exactly.... Was the clown found stuck to the overflow teeth? If so he most likely was sick from something else and didn't have enough strength to try and get off the overflow. A healthy fish should have no trouble swimming near an overflow or getting themselves away from it when they want....

You should decide about mixing clowns based on what size tank you have. Some clowns may get along fine for a while and then get aggresive once they are older. IMO it is better to stick with one type in a smaller tank. For a larger tank you can possibly get away with different ones. As always there are exceptions to the rule. Anyway good luck with your next addition.]
