I recently got a torch coral from the LFS as a present from my BF. It has about 5 heads and I've had it for 3 days... It wasn't opened up in the bag, nor during acclimation... And it hasn't opened up at all. Since its been closed for at least 3 days and barely peeking out at all, the skeleton completely exposed with a dot of tentacles if you look hard enough, do you think its pretty much doomed? I know its not my tank since I have a frogspawn thats doubled in size since I got it at the swap and I have other LPS... I've also switched to RO water and everything is thriving. Is there any way to help it open up at all? Its about halfway down, not particularly in a high flow or the highest light area. There is a candy cane and frogspawn near, but not anywhere close enough to get bothered by sweeper tentacles or chemical "warfare".
