[I built a special topdown photo box for Travis today. I'd post a picture of it, but he already has it! :D Anyway, it is similar to a specimen box like the LFS use to hang a fish on the front of the tank.

However, all the walls are made of black acrylic, with only the base being clear acrylic. I'm looking forward to Travis' new shots from above, as there is no light reflection and you can bet he'll blow us away with some superior macros.

This is what a coral looks like from above, through the box. I tested it with my Fuji S602Z today. You can see the left and bottom walls of acrylic in this shot.

[Its amazing the colors that show up when you look from the top down. Whenever I shut the pumps off and powerheads and the water is still, I take a few minutes to get on the stepstool. Just to get a look at everything from above and through the still water.]

I was changing tank water today and took this shot with no motion in the tank. Its to bad that is the best angle for so many of the colors. This Orange Cap. was the size of a .50 piece 13months ago. And thats not counting the pieces that have broken off of it.]

[wow that is amazing rick! You get the best stuff! Is that the one that you fragged for Jose?]

[Yeah the piece that he got was a piece of it that was broken in my last move. The amazing thing is this coral is about 10" in diameter at its widest point and probably about that tall. And it all grew from a piece as big as a $.50 piece in 13 months.
So Jose treat it well and you see what you have to look forward to.]

[Rick, it is gorgeous. The piece I got from Peter a couple of months ago suffered for a while, but during the week I was away, it really did some growing.

I'll post a picture of it later in the SPS forum, with a comparison from two weeks ago.]
