Too much skimmer?

I have a 33 gallon tank and 10 gallon sump. Would this bee too much skimmer for the tank?

I had a:
CPR HOB, was ugly and loud so sold it.
Biocube skimmer, didn't do a damn thing.
AquaC Urchin Pro, worked, but I don't like the outlet being 15" high.
Aquatic Life 115, continues to not do a damn thing.

The aquaC urchin pro was also rated for 40-120 gal using a mag 3 @ 350 gph, the Reef Octopus DNWB110 is rated for 125 gal @250 gph. Is the Reef Octopus too much skimmer for my system? Is there such a thing?

quite...if it is too big then it will not work very well. it needs poo to help it form the bubbles and the neck of skimmers are designed for a certain amount to work properly. i wanted a larger than needed skimmer on my tank but the vendor actually talked me out of it.

the urchin pro was the only skimmer that worked well, and it was rated 40-120 gal.. while the reef octopus is rated 125, what are your thoughts?

I have the oct nwb110 with a tank water volume of about 50 gallons. It's one awesome skimmer. It's for 100g so double what I have and i have no problems with it. Skims great easy to tune. I feed on the heavy side. I bet that model would do great also. What is the bio load in the tank?

mini reef w/ a clown, starry blenny, staghorn damsel, and eibili angel, i also feed on the heavy side. I considered the tunze 9002 but after using 2 "nano" skimmers resulting in failure I wanted to buy a solution that I was sure would work.

Any thoughts on the ASM Mini-G?

The tunze is a good unit. But I would go with the octopus skimmer from personal experience. The octopus says it's rated for up to 120 gallons but thats on a light bioload. Dependant on you bioload I would think that skimmer will work for you. I ran the older in sump nwb110 in my 29 with 10 sump and it worked great. You may also look at the bubble magus units they are smaller and take up less sump space and they have been getting good reviews. I've never used it myself but I have seem it in action. Its seems like another candidate for you to look at.
