Hi I just wanted some opinions on whether or not I'm running too many T5's on my 100gl display. I'm having some algae growth and it may be part of it being still new 6-8 weeks, I used all my live rock out of my 55gl. and things are fine for the most part but some of my Zoas could be brighter.

Current Light Setup

2 - 48" Coralife Aqualight Fixtures

8 Bulbs
ATI 54w Blue Plus
ATI 54w Purple Plus
ATI 54w Aquablue Special
ATI 54w Aquablue Special
ATI 54w Aquablue Special

ATI 54w Blue Plus

Thanks for any input!

Hey Joe, well roughly 8-9 hours I think they come on around 1pm or so when Im at work and go off around 10pm. Is that too much?

I run my blue LEDs from 1-10, but for all lights on only 5 hours.

If you are getting algae, cut the whites back to 5 or 6 hours and just run a couple blue+ in their place.

Also, test for nitrates and phosphates since they only fuel the fire ;)

You're corals should tell you if it's too much. How are they looking?

If they are bleaching its too much. If they are healthy you can try to cut it back and see what happens but keep a close eye for negotive impact. Every tank I've ever had with t5 over it seems to grow algae too easily. don't know why. Could be spectrum.
