To Catch a Trigger

When a reformed Niger Trigger is suspected of returning to his predisposed behavior, he must not be tempted by krill in order to maintain his residency.

Plot spoiler!

He was tempted by krill and now he has lost his home.

We have a Niger Trigger that is actually isn't too terribly bad considering the fact that he is a Trigger, but nonetheless we wanted him out of our tank so that we can add some additional more peaceful livestock.

I have been trying to figure out how I was going to get him. I have used diy fishtraps in the past with success (cut up plastic bottles), but I thought surely there is an easier way to catch this guy.

I took a piece of krill and stuck it on the end of a wooden skewer. I dipped it in the tank just below the surface while holding a net in the other hand. Sure enough, the Trigger was hungry and immediately came to the surface of the tank. I then snagged him with the net.

Now he gets to find a new home and we peace can be restored to our tank...

That is how I caught the trigger in my pic. I love picasso triggers, but never had an issue with them until now. I need to hurry up and move to my new house. Where I can setup my 120 gallon sump as a sump just for him.
