To add or not add that is the question

I have an 80G das that is three chambers The lights reach over to the openings of the cambers on top. I was thinking of adding some microalgae to eat up the nitrates I was woundering if this method would work. the first chamber where the water flows in is where the algae would be going do you think?

It may work. I'd see if you can get some free chaeto to test this before spending any money on anything. I tried something similiar once where I put a ball of chaeto in the bubble trap of my Remora Skimmer's prefilter. It basically only received light from the top and had constant return water from the skimmer flowing into it. The chaeto continued to grow and was still a healthy looking dark green whenever I inspected it.
