Only thing to add is one has taken on a more blue than the other.

I ordered 2 250W 10K SE bulbs in the Icecap group buy in December 08. Just by eyeballing the bulbs, they are as bright as the Reeflux. The color looks about the same as the 10K Reeflux, too.

I like the Reeflux bulbs, so this new bulbs fits right in. I'll pick either Reeflux or Icecap the next time I buy bulbs, whichever is cheaper.

HTH.

Might look into new aquamaxx bulbs and the new 20k reeflux they are bluer and have more par than the 12k

Pampee, are you saying that the reeflux 20K has more par than the reeflux 12K? Where did you hear this? If that's the case, I'm interested.

I just got my Icecap bulbs installed, and did some comparisons. I'm still undecided on the Icecap 10,000K bulbs, but they are currently still in the burn-in period.

I just replaced my 13-14 month old bulbs, which are listed in the first row of this picture (below). It shows the type, wattage, and current PAR reading. The bulbs are 18" off the surface of the water.

Beneath that row describes the new bulbs. And the final row is the PAR measurement 6" beneath the surface of the water.

Yes, they are. I'm not sure why the numbers didn't match. They are Icecap e-ballasts.

And today, the 400w bulb refused to light. It tries to fire, but only flickers and shuts off. I tried several times, and then put a Radium in in the meantime. I emailed Steven Pro about it.
