So a few months back I cycled my little 20 gallon starter tank. I am using this for building up some live rock and just getting used to the Saltwater life. So we jumped the gun a bit back at the last frag swap and bought some coral to put into the tank along with the CUC (2 Peppermint Shrimp, turbo snails, and nassarius snails). On the trip home we stopped and bought a new light for the tank, and after a third stop for fish stuff we also bought a couple PJ Cardinalfish and a Clownfish.
The two PC Cardinalfish are still doing great but the clown fish decided to go carpet surfing. I also was not able to keep any of the coral alive. After talking with the guy at Apex Aquariums I picked up one of the "other" testing kits and discovered that my KH was WAY low and started some dosing. Once that was good I felt that it was a good time to try some coral again. At last months meeting I was able to pick up some Kenya Tree that someone was giving away, and I also got some GSP from hnurge when someone was not there to pick it up. I am happy to say that I have kept all of the frags alive and they are growing.
So now I think I want to try some Zoas again. However this time I don't want to spend as much money as I did at the Frag swap where I dropped $85 dollars on frags. I just want a nice looking Zoa so I can make sure that I am not going to kill it before I start getting betters ones to put into my big tank.
So, what is a good Zoa to start with that is not considered a weed and is not going to break the bank to buy?
