I've been trying to keep my 12g NanoCube at a steady temp for some time only to find out that the digital thermometer (Coralife) was off. II put 3 of them (Coralife digitals) in my 20g and the regular thermometer in that tank reads 78.8, the one from my 12g NanoCube read 75.5 and another one I had in my salt mix container read 79.8 and I put all 3 probes in the same exact spot. So now I don't trust them at all. I switched to digital because I had the same issue with the glass ones. Are there digital thermometers that are more accurate/trustworthy? Now I"m not sure what the temps are in any of my tanks.

i'm sure there are "more accurate" ones out there, but you can translate that to MUCH more expensive.

your best bet is to buy your thermometer at a LFS. when you go to make your purchase, look at all of them (if the store doesn't have many in stock, go somewhere else). they should all read about the same temperature in the store. the ones that are way off from the norm are the ones to stay away from.

good luck.

Anybody have experience with the PinPoint wireless thermometer? I was thinking about getting one and then 2 additional sensors to have all data in one spot.

I went through the same issues with multiple digital ones. At one point, I had 5 digital thermometers in one place, with 5 different readings. Not only was their a large spread between them, but the difference between them wasn't even consistent over time.
