I am finaly finished with it so I thought I would show it off. I have one more coral frag of some kind of cloves that will be going in it but it wont be here untill next week. It will be the last item that goes in it. I am happy with it & they seem to be enjoying it. They hang out everywhere in the tank. Right now the light is a 50/50 sun bulb that is in the strip that came with the tank. The VHOs will be on the tank by next weekend. I have to many snails in the tank right now but they will be coming out soon.

Great job! It's beautiful - nothing like a new tank. Your gorgs look very healthy. What kind of flow do you have for your tank - I have to put my gorgs directly in the path of a powerhead and the inflow into my tank.

Your sun corals also look very healthy - have you had them long? I have one that though I feed it regularily just looks pitiful. All the hard tissue around the polyps has turned white.

Rick, Jag Thanks alot.

Hi Carolyn & thanks.

I have a mag 3 (350 gph) on it with a SCWD.

I bought the sun coral becouse it was in really sad shape & dieing. I bought it around the first of the year. It has made a good recovery. I saw for the first time a week or so ago that it now has a bunch of tiny babies all over it. I am still smilling. I was just hoping to save it, I had never though abought it doing this.

Is your sun coral eating ? If not try and turn off the pump & squart some mysis shrimp juice over it & wait a few min so it knows it dinner time. When it opens up then feed it. I feed mine cyclopeez & mysis shrimp.

Heres the then & now shots. Its just opening up for dinner in the now shot with the new babies.

Heres a shot when its opened up all the way. This was taken a few months ago after it had dinner.

It is doing great Bump!

I have a dual colony sun coral in my tank and I'm very happy with how quickly it grows. Yours is obviously well fed it is fat and plump and now spreading out with new polyps. Well done!

I do think the sun coral is my favorite. Mine was staying open during the day when it was in my old SH tank. It will have to learn to open up again during the day. I will have to start feeding it early in the day for a few weeks & then it will start doing it on its own. I havent been doing it becouse Iv had lots going on. I need to get back into the right habbit myself. Do your suns stay open up during the day or at night like most ?

How is your SH tank coming along ? Did you get it started yet ? I am done with mine so now we all need to see another new one.

Ah, we do, we do, don't we?

My "Sunny" as I call it opens at both feeding times. My tanks run from midnight to 6am, right now. (Shorter times, but I was trying to save on electricity, with costs so high.) I'm nocturnal and I prefer my tank/coral/fish available for viewing during the time I am awake for viewing.

I expect 4 ponies when I return from MACNA, h.erectus. I've been waiting since early July for these beauties. Bred from a private breeder from seahorse.org For now they will go in the 20g. Just for a short time though, while the 70g gets moved and cycled. I hope they won't mind being crowded for a short time. Slowly but surely by Oct 1st we will be moved in. The tank, hopefully will be moved as soon as MACNA is over. It will be the first piece of 'furniture' moved to the new house so I can start the cycle. The base rock I have for the tank has been in my refugium and my display since it arrived in August. I hoped some of the bacteria would at least start accumulating on it.

I'm tired of waiting too.. It will happen, it will happen. I've already got plans for a nice tank in the living room whe we move too even. A Lionfish reef.

God, don't I know! I waited about a month before I added any more corals and he's been really good about not messing with *anything* nearby it. He even helped me one day remember to plug the skimmer/return pump in after feeding when I was too tired. I'm happy I have a ph in the tank, that could have been bad. I miss having ponies, so it will be nice having some again.

So what did your son do to your tank ? My grandson put his hot dog in with all my corals & fish when he was a baby. Killed lots of corals & fish. He is just now 3 1/2 & this was almost 2 years ago. I lost some corals & fish that I had had for years. It was awful.

Since Jag's moving this weekend and I don't think has internet access, I'll speak up for her...

Her son put shampoo in the tank...

This was a while back though, it's recovered QUITE nicely since then!

Thanks Brian. They didn't turn the internet off like they were supposed to yet. Yeah he put Head and Shoulders in it. I didn't lose everything, but I lost all snails, 1 peppermint, 4 fish (lawnmower blenny, yellow-headed jawfish, royal gramma, a seahorse), Xenia, pink anthilia, a gorgonian, montipora cap frags and all my seagrass. He's been very good lately about not doing anything to it and I think he's learned. He's almost 4.
