My tank is not yet covered(I will be constructing a screen this weekend to cover it), but i hadn't had any problems with fish jumping until my sixline wrasse went missing 2 weeks ago. I looked all around the tank and even in the overflow briefly but didn't see him anywhere. Yesterday I was getting ready to siphon out the junk on the bottom of the overflow when I spotted him down there swimming happily along with a hermit crab that apparently made the climb up and over my overflow. It was tricky getting him out and had to siphon all but about 3" of the water and was then able to corner him with a net and poke him out from around the durso pipe until I was able to scoop him out. He's doing good being back in the display and hopefully he won't jump again until I get the screen built.
I just wanted to share that with you all since he is my favorite fish and I'm so happy he's safe and alive.
