I know I have read stories like this before, but I was just amazed when it actually happened last night so I thought I would share. I recently got a beautiful velvet wrasse from Ramin at EA. It is a gorgeous fish that was always out and about. Yesterday, when I got home from work I said hello to my wife and kids and headed over to the tank like always. I noticed my wrasse was not out. My wife tells me she saw him earlier in the day, but had not seen him all afternoon, though she did hear an odd splashing noise. My first thought was oh no, wrasse jerky. So I look all around the tank for my carpet surfer. No fish. He could not have made it into the overflow right? Wrong!. I stuck my head into the stand and looked up into the overflow and there he was swimming around. Well, it took about 30 minutes (after I unplugged all of my lights and took the canopy off of course), but I was able to stick my net all the way down into the overflow and fish him out. I guess the next trip is to home depot to get a sheet of egg crate so I can have an open top tank and still keep my fish in the tank. Thanks for reading my little story.
