I'm getting back into the hobby and I am reading about Texas Trash and to stay away. Where did this come from? I just don't remember any mention of this coral 7-8 years ago.
From what I understand it was a polyp that was brought into the hobby like any other coral. It started growing fast and was sold to people. Later people started realizing it takes over the tank and is extremely poisonous.
I think it's just a endearing nickname given by Texas hobbiests.... Yes, the will take over. Luckily Iwas warned of Texas Trash polys and GSP when I was a BEGINNER. I leave them on their own little islands so they don't spread....
