Tank thickness for ecotech mp10?

Product description says 3/8" is the maximum tank thickness the mp10, but only cheaper tanks are this thin. I have a Deep Sea 140 and I am trying to decide If I can go with the mp10 or buy the larger mp40 and dial it back. I currently run 4 mj mods, and I have great flow when they run FORWARD, but the damn things keep running backwards.
Does the current not run strong enough on a thicker tank?
Do I really need to go to the pricier model?
Does anyone know how to force a maxi jet to stay in a forward-flow direction so it doesn't reverse and suck in stuff?

Catherine.

3/8" in the maximum because the magnets won't hold the two halves together on thicker glass.

2 MP40's will not need to be dailed back on a 140G tank especially with the different operating modes of the vortech's. The vortech's have really improved over the years and are much more reliable now so enjoy.

Cheers,

Yes, you will want at least 1 MP40, probably 2 for that size tank. I have an MP10 in a 34g solana, and I still added a Koralia nano to increase the flow.

Thanks guys! I bit the bullet and ordered one mp40, the next one will have to wait for a bank robbery or something! JUST KIDDING>>>>
I'm pretty excited, I have been eyeing these for 3 years now!
Catherine.

they are totally worth it. I love my mp10, and when I move into the new house and setup another big tank, I will be doing dual MP40's

ive tested the mp10s on my 120gal aga and it works fine. i believe its 1/2 glass. im going to be running 2 mp10s and 1 mp40 as soon as i finish the build. maybe even 3 mp10s don't know yet
