Personally if I didn't already have our 75 setup this would be the tank I would buy. For me this would be the perfect coral tank. I saw he still has it listed on Craigslist for $1000 so I am pretty sure he still has this system for sell.

Of course the 48" would be nice because it will give you more water volume and obviously could be more visually impressive, not to mention more room for corals. :) But on the flip side if you were going with metal halides, on the 36" tank you could do like I'm doing and use just one bulb with a larger reflector like a Lumenarc or Lumenbright. To get the best of both worlds you could just make the 36" tank wider on the sides and get all of the benefits of the above points. Just a thought.

i would personally go with the 36" tank as the 24x24 dimensions would make nicer rock formations to allow some more interesting coral placement and the 10 gallons in size lost isnt enough IMO to worry about. if you want fish only or several large fish, id do the longer tank, but an sps dominant tank with bunch of small fish, you will like the deeper footprint alot better.

I don't really have any pics of my setup right now, but basically my tank is 36x30x21, and I've got one large Lumenarc hung directly from the ceiling (I live in an apartment with low ceilings) with a single 400w Reeflux 12k. I've tossed around the idea of hanging a couple of T5s for actinic, but for me personally the Reeflux doesn't really need it. The Lumenarc works great for my tank and I really don't have much shadowing at all, especially compared with the PFO pendant I used to have on there. Hope that helps!
