Wow awesome growth...can I ask what equipment you have ie lights said:
Thanks Carolyn.
The moderate success of my tank proves that you don't have to know everything about this hobby to have a decent tank. I read alot on this forum, but mostly I attribute my tanks success to the large amount of live rock in my tank/sump, macro algae, and water changes once a month(some people do it much more often).
My tank is a 75 gallon with overflows to a 20 gallon sump/refugium. My light setup is a hood in my canopy with 2 150 watt DE halides and 2 super actinic 95 watt VHOs. I have a protein skimmer that is not very effective and would like to upgrade, but have such limited space that my options are limited. I just got the new Phoenix 14k bulbs that are a more blue than I am used to (especially with my actinics) but the growth has been quite noticeable over the last month that I've had them. The only chemicals that I add are to my top-off system which is a plastic animal cracker jug from Sam's that I attached a drip valve to. I have been using the Kalk/Vinegar mixture for 6 months now and my parameters have never been out of balance. My flow is moderate considering my differnt coral arrangements (Softies, LPS, clams, and a handful of SPS). I am actually now running out of space to put stuff which makes my wife happy. That large GSP rock on the top is starting to grow along the back wall so would like to get rid of it soon before it starts taking over the tank. I want to trade it for a RBTA but they are hard to come by. To keep it from spreading, I have been cutting the mat that is reaching away from the rock it is attached to. They are like fingers begging for someone to touch.
