tank problems please need you imput

my water is murky and i have done full parameter test, and a 10g water change, for the most part here is what i got. ( i did the water change five gallons at a time)
dkh-8
Calcium-440
nitrates-20 ( i know a lil high just moved it this weekend)
phosphates-.25
ammonia-0
temp-78
please any input will be deeply appreciated it is in a 29g biocube

none of my coral is coming out in it which is beginner corals such as GSP, YSP, white pom pom xenias, kenya tree, frog spawn, and leathers.
my main concern is my rbta i do not want to loos it he opens but leathers have stress coat

How long has the tank been set up? Was it clear before and then murky or is it a new setup? Could anything have been dumped into the water?

What was the temp of the water change water? I have gotten cloudy water if the new water isn't close to the temp(colder) of the tank water. It took a few days for it to clear up completely.

the water was the same temp the tank has been established for over a year we just moved it and everything was clear over the weekend then monday morning it just got murky at first i thought the lunar wrasse had stirred up the sand bed but it just never cleared up really .... and has cleared up a little since but the rbta isnt really coming out a lot at all and the clown keeps trying to play in him while he is half way open. it is sort of depressing to watch... the leathers still have slime coat... the gsp is coming out long and strong but off and on. yellow star polyps, xenias, kenya tree, and leathers are no shows.... frog spawn sort of comes out but is still very weak... i will try to answer anyones questions as soon as possible and thank you for your help so far and hopefully we can get this issue resolved...

What is the nitrite reading? Also, do you make or purchase your salt water. If the corals are stressed, I would assume it is not the water temp causing that. Nitrate at 20 is not causing the stress either. Running carbon? also try Chemi-Pure elite.

Hi,
How long are you mixing the new water(if you are mixing yourself)? Since your coral's are showing stress it may be a good idea to do perform a one time 50% water change instead of (2) 25% waterchanges You will want to match all tank parameters and perform the waterchange in one shot, then you may want to run some carbon. This is assuming you are using ro/di water. [smilie=smile.gif]

Cheers,

I am using ro/di water and have been mixing my water up two-three days in advance. My nitrites tested at 0 this morning also. There is a media bag with chemipure elite in the back I have purigen on order right now. I also have filter floss in the first chamber and a protien skimmer and rubble rock in middle chamber.

Tank cleared up the stress slime has gone down and everything seems like its getting better but anemone still isn't really opening maybe he has to recoupe from whatever this is.
