Tank pic

Hi everyone! Thought I'd post a picture of my 12 gal. NanoCube I started when I broke down my 58. I've gotten a few frags down here but most of the corals are from the old tank. For critters, I have a blue chromis, yellow clown goby, red firefish and a small cleaner shrimp.

It's hard to get adjusted to stocking a smaller tank but I don't miss the larger water changes and equipment at all ;)

Thanks!

School is crazy but good. I'm taking Coral Reef Ecology (that has a 2wk. trip to Mexico in May!) and Marine Ecological Processes as well as writing my proposal and TAing some Intro Bio labs. My coral knowledge from keeping aquariums is turning out to be a huge plus in the Coral Reef class.
I'll be doing my research this summer if my grant comes through... My project is looking at corals found along the coast, specifically the gorgonian Leptogorgia sp. (the yellow and orange ones you see on the beach and on the jetties) Here's a picture:

So if anyone's down here, drop a hello!

Emily;

Your tank looks great. That yellow gorgonian, do you have it in your tank? Is it hard to take care of? I'm looking for yellow for my seahorse tank and that would sure fit the bill. Are they common down there?

Well, I had it in my tank temporarily until I took it to the lab. They are azooxanthellate and therefore are not easy to keep. Plus, the yellow one in the picture was about two feet long and unbranched...I wouldn't suggest one for a tank at all plus, they are important habitat along the coast anyway.
