Tangs

Hi,

We currently have a 3 inch Sailfin Tang. I saw a Clown Tang at the LFS and was thinking about adding it. It is about 2 inches. Would there be any problems with this?

Thank you

The clown tang can grow over 12" long. You'll need a long tank for that baby.

Those tangs will go at each other until one is dead. Unless you introduce the fish at the same time, one one will survive.

I love tangs i have a 135 gallon tank with a yellow, clown, keyhole, and a niger trigger. they all get along well. Just got a huge sailfin tang and going to put a unicorn tang in soon. Only thing I wouldnt do is get multiples of same type of tang. I have had my clown for over a month he was almost bare bones when I got him. Just make sure you have nori or have macro algae for them to nibble on through out the day. As tangs are grazers and eat constantly.

not flaming, but you do know that the clown and unicorn will outgrow that tank very quickly, right? Some tangs are better left to large tanks that can meet their requirements more effectively, such as the achilles, clown, and anything in the naso genus really.
