Tang Question (Advice)

I bought a 300 gallon used aquarium that already had a regal blue tang (Dory) , a bristletooth tomini tang, and 3 yellow tangs. They all get along fine.

The tank has been in its new location a week. Is it already too late to add say a Sailfin tang? Have the territories already been defined by the other tangs?

The tank has 21 fish in it.

1 blue tang
1 bristletooth tomini tang
3 yellow tangs
4 clownfish
5 pajama cardinals
2 banggai cardinals
1 bluegreen chromis
1 lyretail hogfish
1 bluejaw trigger
1 wrasse
1 psycadelic mandarin goby

If you have enough rock work that they're not constantly in view of each other they'll probably be okay. They'll definitely have a little tail swatting at the beginning, but they should get used to each other within a few days. I'd feed extra nori during that time just to reassure them there's plenty of food to go around.

you are likely to see some violence initially when adding the sailfin. IME though it only lasts a day or two when you provide plenty of space, which a 300g tank is going to provide for you. it is a risk no matter what.

FWIW, I took a chance at adding 5 yellow tangs and 1 purple tang all together at once into my 450g that already had 2 yellow tangs, powder blue tang and a vampire tang; i was hoping by adding 6 new tang's at once that the fighting would be dispersed enough that no one fish would get hit too brutal while everyone 'figures things out'. I was however wrong..... it was a major blood bath that ALL the new fish got ripped up bad from. after two days the violence stopped, and I credit the amount of space as to why noone died. everyone schools together now!
