Taking apart the Sicce 2500

Need to take apart this pump for cleaning. It's running but not putting out any water. Any ideas?

There are no visible screws to take out. I'm afraid to force it. I put it in sink full of vinegar and water but still no water.

THE BOTTOM PORTION OF THE PUMP VOLUTE TWISTS COUNTER-CLOCKWISE TO COME OFF. IT IS VERY TIGHT AND YOU MAY NEED A PAIR OF LARGE PLIERS TO GET IT OFF.

When I twisted it I broke the shaft. I used the pliers like the picture. Must have twisted too hard? There was a few months build up on the inside and even when run in sink full of vinegar and water for 2 days it did not come off enough to get it to run water, although I could hear the pump running.

Are these good pumps? Thanks for the link on the web. The pictures did help.

carbon fiber replacement shaft

Put some silicone grease on the two pieces it makes a big difference next time you go to take them apart.

is this for a skimmer? if so they are notorious for not starting. Mine never restarts without some work. Some suggest blowing in the airline, but I found that turning the pump vertical witht the volute up makes it work.

Yes, I will definitely use silicone grease, and yes they are for a skimmer. I think that only one has been working on the skimmer and that's probably why I haven't been too impressed with the skimmer.

I broke my shaft on my psk 2500, and no the carbon fiber replacement was of not much help either. The PSK always had start stop issues and did not last much more than one year. I am much happier with the Tunze I replaced it with.

What Tunze did you use to replace the Sicce 2500? I'm having a hard time getting Marine Solutions to send me the parts, which I have ordered and paid for October 28. Has anyone had this experience with Marine Solutions? They won't let me know what's going on and I have called them and emailed them numerous times.

Is there another place to get the Sicce parts?
