Does anyone have experience with this mod? I think I have a flow issue, and I have an extra MJ 1200 I can put in. Does this think work as advertised? I read something about the thing reversing, is that true?
They may run in reverse on start-up. Once they are running they will continue to run in whatever flow direction they started at. You will have to check them at start to make sure they are going in the out flow direction. The Koralas do not do that but do not do well with a system that is constantly changing pumps like the RedSea wavemaker. I used them on a Reefkeeper II without any problems for years. I have also used the Koralas on a Chauvet SF-4005 timer and they worked fine as long as you keep the run times a few minutes long.
If you run the smaller blade you get less frequent reverses. I had them running on a wavemaker. It would maybe go reverse once or twice a day some days it won't even go reverse.
