Sump Question???

When i got this tank it had filter media in three different places . I was told to cut down on bubbles, so i left it that way, and have been changing when needed. Now i am trying to establish an abundace of pods in my fuge. But one of the filter pads is between my fudge and my return pump.

So with this there my pods would never make it back to the main tank correct??
And should i remove all three or just the one and replace with rubble??

The pods will make it anywhere there is water, but they will breed and thrive where they want. Filter pads are one of those places! If you want more pods in the fuge or need to seed it, just soak your filter and wring it out in a bowl of saltwater and the pods will fall out (or pick them out with teezers), then just drop them in the fuge. That's a bit of work though.. eventually things will find their way into your fuge on their own.

Replacing with rubble will reduce your nitrate build-up potential.. but pods will still find the shelter in the rubble and pretty much stay there.

I was more wanting to know if they would make it to the diplay tank. I am worried that my manderin might go a little hungry if they have a hard time getting to him or not at all cause they cant get past the filter pad.
If plenty of pods cant pass threw the pad my many will starve? I guess this should have been my question. Thanks for the reply

Yep they will... some end up chum in the return pumps but given enough time the display will be populated. You should consider making a few rubble piles in the display tank though and that will given the ones that make the trip a place to hangout and breed.
