sump on a Nano..

Ok So I have a sump that will fit under the Stand I built for my BIO .

Quesiton is .. How many have sumps under there Nano and how did they do the Plumbing... Any Pics would help..
 
I'm searching over on the nano-reef.com forums right now. I KNOW I saw a guy or 2 who modded their nano's like that. One I think did it to a sump and the other plumbed it into his main system. Having a hard time finding them.
 
I plan on possibly doing it to mine. Figure it would do better with a sump and I got room and a wet dry that will fit that I can convert so why not.
 
I think they end up cutting out the 1st chamber in the back and fitting some sort of bulkhead. This will drain into the sump. Then on the return it pumps back into the tank through the back wall and then connects to the original outlet.
 
I plan on kinda doing that.

i have 3 hings to think about.

1.) I like the hood look it is clean so what ever i do I don't want to effect that.
having said that i figure I will have to dremel someholes in the back of the hood were you can not see it for water flow.

2.) I do not want to drill the tank. it is put together and I do not want to mess it up. So what ever it is has to go between the top of the hood and the tank. So i got about 2" that i can cut.

3.) Also on failure I do not want the tank or sump to overflow. This is going to be the hard part.
 
I did this already.. What I want to do now is to put a external sump in..

I think I am going to have the Normal return going to the Sump and then run another line up to the presetn return.

trying to figure out how to make it failure proff.. lol
