Sump build for 300gal

Hi, I am wondering if I can use 2 different sump for 1 aquarium. One sump is eshopps that blue bio balls 36L16h14w, other is trigger Ruby36, 36L16h15w.
Is there a way to connect both sump or is it beneficial to use both or just one. Also is there a better option to remove old eshopps sump from stand before I start cutting into the wood. I was told that the aquarium was by dallas north aquarium. Would like everyone input and advise Thanks.

You shouldn’t need to cut the stand to get the old sump out. If they got it in there it can come back out. You might need to take a door off or maybe even unscrew one of the supports that the doors mount to. Definitely do that before putting the aquarium on there or at a minimum before filling it. If it has weight on the stand you may never be able to get that support piece back on because the wood could flex a small amount.

As for running two sumps / connecting them. I’m not really sure. My personal opinion would be to not connect them because it’s another leak point and water pass through point to clean and or clog. Running two seems like too much work and extra equipment. Just my opinion though. Good luck and enjoy. 300 gallons gives you lots of live stocking options!

Is the top of the stand open? Asking because my 60g FOWLRs sump goes in and out through where the aquarium sits. My 180g mixed reef's sump goes in and out through the back by temporarily removing one of the back supports WITHOUT having the aquarium on top - for all the reasons @IowaKGB mentions above. Good luck to you!!!
