Stupid newbie q 3: algae

[Okay... I'm changing my nickname to "stupidnewbie".

So I come home from work, and it appears life in my tank is thriving! At least in some form... I've got 4 trochus snails and 4 cortez hermits. They've been munching away since I put them in my freshly cycled tank, and I'm worried they will explode if they keep this up.

It's a losing battle, as the glass and rocks are now pretty much covered with what I guess is algae. There are a couple places where I see green, but for the most part it's brown/yellow film growing everywhere (glass/rocks/powerheads/sand). I know this algae bloom is normal at this time, but what kind of algae is this?

Also - I don't want to overreact and throw a bunch more snails and hermits in there if this algae bloom will die off on it's own and leave them starving.

So what's the plan? Let them feast and wait, or throw a few more into the fray so stomachs don't explode?]

[That stuff that is growing is short lived, and your bacterial population will be consuming it as it increases in size.

The clean up crew can be increased as well, if these first few are doing well.]
