Still trying to figure my BTA's out

As to feeding it (Which, IMHO, is an aspect of anemone's that's often overlooked) what are you feeding it?

For a BTA, you really shouldn't feed it anything bigger than a Mysis... Usually smaller than that (Cyclopeeze have been great for mine)

Also, high nitrates can make them close up some, as well as even a tiny amount of copper contamination... (Unfortuntaely, I speak from experience on both of those points... )

Well lack of light is not a possibility. I have 600 watts in a 72 gallon tank. I feed them a combination of cut up pieces of fresh shrimp, and cut up pieces of silver sides. I have been doing this for about 6 months. I cut back on feeding them their for a couple of months. I think they got used to a feeding pattern, and then I changed it up on them.

I had made some "food" (shrimp, scallops, meet blender) for the tank which has worked well so long as the portions are VERY small... Mine finally seems to have found a home it likes... Running dual 96W PC and it seems to be happy as... well... a RBTA! It rarely seems to puff up its tentacles... And a water test last night showed some higher than desirable nitrates.

It has grown though... And of course, Boris and Natasha love it... (my two black/white perculas)

My BTAs gobble up a whole large krill or half of a silverside pretty quickly. But I've noticed they won't touch any food if it has garlic or Zoe on it.
