Square tube bending

Does anyone know or have access to a square tube bender? I'm wanting to bend some aluminum square tube for my light fixture. Please let me know if you have a bender or know anyone that can do that.
Frisco, Carrollton, Plano, Allen, Richardson, Carrollton, and it's surrouding would be great. Don't want to drive too far.

Thank you!

To bend square tube you will need a machine I doubt a normal human can bend square tubing

Emailed this company but no response from them yet.

Both Aluminium and Iron square tubing can be bent with the proper tools. Best bet is find a local fab shop. which probably are not that easy to find. Maybe look up costom car builders or customer motorcycle builders.

I agree with Joe Id cut and weld, but I would imagine if its aluminum tubing its pretty thin walled which means you need to be careful not to blow it out. If that can be done you could try taking a torch and heating the section you want to bend set up a jig that will let you pull with a lot of pressure to make the bend. Also by going this route it will ripple most likely. Even using a machine I would bet this would happen unless the machine can strectch the tube.

Or cut it on angles and weld ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk said:
Yep other trick is to cut a relief and bend then weld in a triangle for the gap left. but just cutting and welding is probably easier. don't think you are going to weld that square Al you get at home depot or Lowes though. needs to be welding iron.

the aluminum from HD and Lowes can be welded but you need a good welder that you can turn way down as to not blow the weld out. A tig weld would likely be best but then again im not a welder so I could be wrong.

Just get the tubing and connectors from Eztube.com instead.

Ya, you need a good welder, and a lot of skill/experience to handle welding thin walled aluminum. If you are going to paint it, there is always jbweld ;)

That's really nice. Do you think those are strong enought o make a L shape to hang my fixture on?

This guy does a good job of it. Im practicing welding in my garage right now with 14 gauge steel tubing, and yeah, Im blowing through it pretty easy, and only getting a decent weld 20% of the time. So more practice to keep getting better (Im to the point where I can strike an arc the first time, nearly everytime)

*Just noticed you said Aluminum. Cant help you there.

I can help you. My friend has access to the equipment you need. Send me a PM and we can work it out. Also, you'll need to come to Denton.

I'm in ft worth. I build race cars for a living. I can cut/weld it. Bending aluminum tubing is futile at best. Few alloys of round aluminum will bend without ripping. square will be even worse.

This task is easily done in the hydro former, it won't even think twice about it. As long as the bend he wants doesn't need a custom die, which it won't, there are a few hundred die's to chose from. We had a blast playing with this when we built my stand. :)

Got a sketch of the L-shape? Horizontally or vertically?
