Can someone ID this coral for me? It has been just an encrusting SPS for about 1yr now and in the last 3-4 months it's started growing branches! It looks like a milli to me, but I'm just not sure.

No. It looks like a <u>gorgeous</u> A. millepora to me! :p
 
I think it looks more like a. prostrata.
Prostrata tends to grow a bit more spread, Milli tends to grow closer and taller.

The only actual way to tell the diff between Prostrata and Millepora is to do a skeletal structure examination.

I tried to look up A. prostrata just a few days ago in Corals and that wasn't even listed in the index.
 
I won't get into any debate whether this is a prostrata or millepora or somthing else. But here you go Marc with a description of either one.

A very pretty coral whatever it is, Bill. But as a self-avowed soft coral collector, I think you should preserve the integrity of your tank by selling it to me :)

)hmm...I dont know, it may be a milli, but I wonder how much the flow affected it's growth...still dont think it is though. At least, dont look like mine and its in decent flow (ya...like im some sps guru :p )
 
Seeing growth like that makes me sick. It would take me a year to get that much growth. Good job, it is looking great. Still looks like a milli or a prostrata
