Somone's eating my Tang ( i think )

took a at my yellow tang today and he's missing some fins. It looks like he's been nibbled on but i noticed it was red around some of the "bites"
here's a picture, might not be that helpfull since he didn't want to stay still

Help ! :)

Thank you

oh yeah, other fish are a Tomatoe clown and a Lionfish. all of them have been together for over a year now.
the other fish seem fine.
and one more thing, i noticed the red is on all the fins, not just where it has been bitten ( but not on the body )

Is the fish still eating well?
Assuming all your tank parameters are correct and you haven't seen another fish picking on him...
I'd suggest feeding the tang his favorite foods to build his system up. Do you feed him nori or some type vegetable matter? It may just be the pic, but he he looks thin to me.

Looks like there's some HLLE around the eye areas. Definately feed nori a couple times a day. Fatten that bad boy up.

HLLE - Head and Lateral Line Erosion...

Usually believed to be caused by a nutrient deficiency...

Google on "HLLE" for much more on it...

Good luck with that Tang!!!

Serk, I've been meaning to tell you, every time I see your post I smile at that really cute kid. What a cute little boy!

Kay, glad the pic brings a smile to ya', but he's a she... :) Don't worry, we're used to it, with her lack of hair, we can dress her up in a pink dress, put a bow in the little hair she's got, and still have comments about "What a cute boy!" :)

It does look like he is squabling with someone, the only way to figure that one out is to sit and watch.
I dont see any real problems in the pic other than the chewed up fins, which should heal up on their own. If they start fraying, get cloudy looking or any other funky appearance you might want to plan for some antibiotics in a QT.
In the meantime, increase his feedings with nori and frozen mysis. I also like to alternate with Ocean Nutrition Formula 2 flake every couple of days. Healthy insides are the best way to maintain healthy exterior.
