some sps turning white?

i have bought some frags of sps and there are two that have turned from green to solid white...???! what do i do are they dying or what?

does it look bone white?

is there any skin?

What is your lighting set-up?

Water Parameters?

How did you introduce them into your tank?

It could be bleached if your light is a little too intense. Need more information on your part to give you more probable causes.

no not really they are acros i think i have a 150w viper 2 halide on a 29gal biocube i set the bag in the tank and every now and then like five minutes dipped some of my water in with it till the water had doubled in the bag then put it in just installed a pump on the tank yesterday to....

the quality of your water might be something you might want to post too. Alk, Ca, Mg
also major temperature swings can contribute.
also major PH swings can contribute.
still need more information.

Powerhead could have had something to do with it if it was placed directly in front of it.

ok my bad.... just dont want all my stuff to start dying and i was actually fixin to do a water change... but ok my bad...

you need to test your water with out knowing what parameters your working with you wont know the source of you problem.

what is through the roof? through the roof is not a number. doing a water change to bring down alk is not needed, it will fall on it own. but can lower it by doing a water change.

Here's a chart that shows what alk should be in relation to calcium.

Alk meq/L Alk dKH Calcium ppm

SPS does not like high flucuations in water quality (PH, Alk, Temp, mainly) I would do some reading up on how to maintain your water parameters and keep them stable.
