Probably six months ago, I thought I saw a hole going right through the body of my Harlequin Starfish. As if it was shot through and through. I couldn't believe my eyes, and when I checked on it the next day its body was intact. I checked on it several times as it would peek out from under the rockwork, and it looked healthy and sound.
Well, tonight I saw it again, so I grabbed my camera this time.

What concerned me more was watching a baby brittle star grab onto the open tissue and tug the opening even wider. The Harlequin didn't seem too motivated to escape this tiny predator, so I intervened.
I moved it to the skimmer section of my sump in case it can heal from this damage. There is plenty of detritus to sift through in that section.
